Back to the ol' grind.....

So yesterday was my first day back at work post-Dylan. Maybe a more appropriate heading for this post is "Best Day at Work Ever!" Here are the bullet points from the day (and be forewarned, there are many):
-was able to drop both boys off at Grandma's on time (major victory)
-first one to arrive in the office
-I still had both the outside office and my personal office key (as no one was there to let me in) so I didn't have to stand out in the mall like an idiot with 1,000 bags
-I forgot they were painting my office during my leave (totally looked like an episode of "While You Were Out" with new calming green spa-like paint, super clean and vacuumed, framed certificates of cheezy company achievements on the wall)
-a couple of additions to the office: brand new office chair with full neck support and trendy floor lamp for use when the florescent lighting annoys me
-a goody bag on my desk with snacks, a digital photo key chain, and a Starbucks giftcard from the holiday party
-an empty in-box (only stayed that way for about 10 minutes)
-"Welcome Back" signage on my office door
-people complimenting me on my appearance (whether accurate or not, in all fairness, I was 20lbs and another person heavier the last time I saw them)
-surprise "Welcome Back" lunch of pizza and an ice cream cake (there went the veggies and Costco diet shake that were sitting on my desk)
-visit from a pregnant friend dropping off a bag of the best chocolate chip cookies in the world
-same friend giving me gender news of her baby (Dylan's bff!)
-got an email from someone saying they are intersted in $70 worth of maternity clothes I advertised on craigslist
-got my 4th quarter Safety Incentive (company gives a $60 giftcard for the mall each quarter as long as no one is injured at work and misses 3 days of work from that injury)
-super quick day flying by
-a chick-flick date night with a girlfriend and the movie was super funny

I almost feel bad that I won't be staying at work for long. I may have to re-think if every day goes like this, though! What are the chances?

After a glorious day 1, how was the reality of day 2?

Day 2 was very different. I got a lot more done due to extra time on my hands from no more "We Love Nicole" events :( Still not bad enough to give my notice.......yet.
