Reason #44 not to take small children to the mall...

After checking out some stores we decided to hit the Food Court for lunch. I knew that Dylan needed to be changed, but Daddy suggested that we wait until after everyone had eaten before I changed the boys. Looking back now, I don't think that was the best choice. As I headed to the bathroom, I remembered that I hadn't restocked the wipes container from the visit to Grandpa's the previous day and I could now tell that Dylan had a code brown. While we were in the Family Room, I told Maddox to wash up from lunch and showed him a child potty room. He was either very confused or wanted to play, but he wasn't doing what I asked, so I had to stop assessing the damage and contemplating the best way to clean up Dylan and turn to re-focus Maddox. Unfortunately, Dylan's whining/crying re-directed my attention back to him. Why was he crying? His face was all wet. How? Apparently, as I was lifting his legs up to wipe him down, he decided that was the best moment to urinate and basically peed all over his face, hair, eyes, mouth, his full outfit, and Maddox's coat in addition to the changing table. Reminder: still no wipes. With the weather dumping rain all afternoon, I'm wondering how I'm going to keep these kids warm. Luckily I had layered Dylan and his t-shirt wasn't wet. Unfortunately, the only emergency pants I had in the diaper bag were pajama looking bottoms (super nerdy & unflattering) and no coats for either of the boys. Needless to say it took A LONG TIME to get out of the bathroom. That is the least prepared I have been as a mother and I had meant to completely restock the diaper bag after yesterday's excursion, but forgot before we hit the mall. Rest assured, the bag is definitely ready to go as we speak!
