Any door busters out there?

OK, so I love a good deal as much as the next person, but I can't commit to getting up at 5am on Black Friday just for a bunch of socks. Seriously, the frenzy that is the Christmas shopping season has different purposes, but the main purpose I find is that it creates panic for everyone: is this really the best price, what if there are none left by the time I get there, is Grandma going to punch me in order to get the last iTouch? Granted, there are some (reported) awesome electronic deals happening next Friday (32" LCD screen for approximately $250, digital camcorder for $50, etc.), but I just don't deem the extra efforts worth it. Will these prices never be around again? In this economy, I'll bet we will.

I will admit that I have gone shopping on Black Fridays before: 1) when I was home from college on Thanksgiving break and had many other days of rest. I did have to get as much shopping done as possible, as I went to college in a very small town, void of any retail, and had no car; and 2) when I worked at Westfield and HAD to work on Black Friday. That was actually pretty fun, as all of my fellow Management Office employees would take turns scoping out all the sales and reporting promptly back to the next set of people "taking their break". Good times & good deals.

My husband has braved the early sales a time or two, but this was back before the boys came and sleeping in was something we could do every weekend. I remember one year in particular where he visited 3 different Fred Meyer stores for the 25" TV for $199 and it wasn't even a flat screen....my how the times (& technology prices) have changed. Now he is more likely to stay up late on Thanksgiving evening until the online stores open up the sales just after midnight. I will say that he has been victorious more often than not.

Whatever your plan is, I pray for energy, luck, & fantastic sales for your holiday shopping. Enjoy!
