Cookie Party 2010

This afternoon I decided to throw a cookie decorating party for the boys. Would've been cute if the cookies looked like Easter eggs, but after 6 years I finally tossed the rolling pin (from nonuse, of course) and let the shapes fall as they may.

Donning their IKEA smocks (so great), they each had about 6 cookies each to spread with various colors of frosting and other candied adornments.

Dylan enjoyed pouring on the sprinkles, then eating each sprinkle one at a time. Didn't really occur to him to eat the actual cookie. Maddox was very meticulous on color selection and red hot placement.

The finished products are also on display. Sadly, this event didn't take very long and the prep/cleanup was about 3x as lengthy. Hopefully they remember it!

Your such a good Mommy! And I love what you said about it not taking very long but prep/cleanup took longer...so true, but worth it. Super cute that Dylan didn't think about eating the cookie and tell Maddox good job because every artist knows that color choice and red hot placement is so important when it comes to the final product!

Nic, we MUST get together this spring or summer with the kids! I'm putting it on the top of my list of things to do this summer.

The boys will love remembering cookie decorating time. And if they don't remember years down the road, then keep the pictures handy and show them what a great mama you are!
