Do Life!!!

I don't know if there are any of our blog followers out there that have been to Crossroads Church in Vancouver, but they have a really great program there called Do Life! (the exclamation is theirs, not mine). Anyway, the purpose of the program is to connect people of similar interests together in groups for fellowship (ie, Do Life Kayaking! and Do Life Watercolors!). The members of the group don't need to be members of this church (or any church), but just have a common love for a hobby. Basically a leader decides to start a group and gets the information out there and voila! It's a little like high school, actually. There are groups for the different sports, arts & crafts, and general categories, like weight loss.

I, personally, have many uncultivated interests and am limited simply by lack of time/childcare or I'd be joining all kinds of groups. Oh, if only this program had started in my pre-family days..... Up to now, I have only been part of Do Life Moms! which is geared toward any mommy that likes to get together for park playdates in the nicer weather, monthly brunch potlucks, and a monthly Mom's Night Out. So far it's been great and a wonderful tool of picking the brains of fellow moms out there.
