I've got a date!

Things have been fairly boring these days.....something that I am pretty happy about. Over the last few weeks I've had another MRI (which was a lot easier to handle than the previous one), a meeting with my surgeon (who loved the results of my MRI which showed my tumor shrinking from 3.8cm to 1.5cm changing my status to Stage 1...woo hoo!), and a partly sunny/partly rainy Spring Break (which we celebrated a home with some trips to the park, G6 Airpark, Big Al's and a fun Easter celebration at Grandma and Grandpas). The only unfun thing during these weeks was that Teague and I both caught super nasty colds and suffered for about 10 days. We are both feeling better now, just waiting for our voices to come back and the coughing to cease.

During my appointment with the surgeon, she scheduled my surgery for May 3rd. This means by that evening I will be cancer free! It also means I will be unable to drive, lift, pass, hold, clean or feed anything for at least 2 weeks. This will be a crazy time for Teague. Many of you have offered to help during this time (thank you! I love you!) and I'm working on a spreadsheet (of course I'm making a spreadsheet...who is surprised?) of the things others can be offering help for. Mainly it will be taking the boys to and from school. This is very similar to the needs I posted in a December entry, but this time Teague will have a little more flexibility to have a day off or work from home. If you are able, please keep checking the blog for my spreadsheet. If you are unable to help with those needs, please help by praying for an easy recovery and for Teague's sanity while navigating being a single dad during baseball season.

Next step: an appointment with my oncologist Thursday to check my blood and ensure I'm healthy for surgery and recovering from chemo well and an appointment Monday with my plastic surgeon who will be shaping me back together. Never fun when you're half naked and they are drawing on you with a sharpie :( Not too sad, tho, all for a good reason!

Prayer requests: that I can secure transportation needs for the boys post-surgery and have that peace of mind going into the surgery; 2) praise that God has answered all my prayers and kept that nasty cold off until my chemo was done; and 3) that during surgery, my surgeon can determine that radiation will not be necessary for my case (this would save me from 6 weeks at 5 days a week of have radiation shot through my body.....I am very against this!)

Have a fantastic day everyone!

Oh, man. I will be praying for no radiation! But if it's necessary, know that the Lord can cover that too :)
