Busy week

It was a busy week for students of Marrion Elementary.  I won't bore you with the exhaustive amount of PTA nonsense (your welcome!), I will just touch on a couple of highlights.

Dylan's class visited BiZi Farms for the pumpkin patch festivities.  It rained pretty much the entire time we were there.  Since I've been there about 6 times already, I knew the drill and just tried to make sure that Dylan got to do everything he wanted.  Unfortunately, this dismal weather did prevent a few of the standard activities, but I didn't really many people complaining.

Today was Mustang Run for the boys.  Although each class walked right by me before starting, I never saw Maddox until he was on his 2nd lap.  Dylan had forgotten the NBA sweatband he was wearing when he left the house.  They each gave me great smiles with each lap they passed.  They were both running for the most part.  Mrs. Dunmire brought Dylan over to me once after he had taken a spill on the pavement.  He cried for awhile while sporting a bloody elbow, but only used the icepack for a 1/2 second before rejoining the run.  His little friend, Ethan, joined him during his recovery. I saw Maddox running with Carter quite a bit.  They both ran 7 laps, which is 2.33 miles.  Not too shabby.

(Hoping you can view this video of Maddox in the orange shirt... it's cute, trust me)

Some downsides to the event: *I think Maddox pulled his calf muscle.  He keeps limping and doesn't let his heel touch the ground.  He's in tears and I've propped up his leg with an ice pack.  Not ideal when his first basketball game is tomorrow.  *When I picked up Dylan at the end of the school day to prevent him from getting on the bus, he went into a full-on meltdown because he wouldn't be able to ride the bus home. 1st World problems.
