August 2020

Hello!  August found the Rakoz Family trying desperately to soak up every minute of the summer as possible (or maybe that is just me????).  Here are some highlights of the month.

Maddox is pretty obsessed with Diesel.  He (Maddox) stalks, steals and snuggles at every opportunity.  He also texts me pictures of Diesel. Like all.the.time. Not Coco, only Diesel.  Best bros.

The beginning of the month we finally made it to the coast.  The weather was beyond beautiful; in the upper 60's with no wind.  We saw 2 weddings take place on the beach from our deck and had a fabulous time.

When did THIS happen???

We don't have very many family photos, but this one makes me very happy.

20+ years together

The hot tub is a perk we all enjoy during our coast trips.

This is the only reason Maddox and Presley even come down to the sand....forced by Daddy for pictures.

When I wasn't catching up on reading novels or walking on the beach, this is where you would find me.  Due to the varying hours of the outlets and the diminished occupant capacity allowed, the stores looked quite a bit different this trip. Some lines got pretty long, but we found some great deals.

We took a few trips to Battle Ground Lake this summer.  We had never been here before and I could kick myself for not coming sooner!  This lake is so peaceful and we had 3 inner tubes to float around in.  Me, Dylan and Presley were in absolute heaven!  The weather was hot and the Lake was the perfect temperature.

It's our tradition to stop for ice cream at Hockinson Market any time we pass by. It always hits the spot on a beautiful day.

Presley came into work with me one day and got to hang out with her friend & co-workers daughter, Kinley.  They hardly ever get to see each other, but they spent the day playing 'school' which turned into a swim date at Kinley's house, which turned into a sleepover where they didn't go to sleep until 2am.

Every school year at work begins with an all-day Secretary Training at a nearby high school.  This year's training took place online which I actually enjoyed so much more since I could get some work done as well.  Happy 20.21 school year!

A couple of days before Presley's birthday we were invited to an ice cream party at Grandma's house.  It gave Grandma and opportunity to enjoy Presley's face when opening her gifts.

On August 17th this sweet little Angel turned 9 years old!  Her breakfast request was chocolate chip waffles and sliced strawberries with whipped cream and purple sprinkles.

Dinner request was MOD Pizza with No-Name Cakes for dessert

I can't believe that my baby girl is already 9, it's completely surreal.  I pray that I can cherish every single moment and memory with her.

The weather this month has been what I consider to be perfection!  So warm and sunny, exactly what August is supposed to be.  One evening we had the Denbos over for snacks and a impromptu pick-up football practice

Here's a pic of me and P keeping it safe at her 9-year checkup.  She's growing a lot and very quickly.  Puberty is hitting all 3 of these kids all at once and I'm just hoping Teague and I can survive it!

Here's a distance learning workstation designed by Presley for school.  Whatever it's going to take for online learning to encourage these kids to thrive, I'm all for it!

That's it for August!  We are trying to get outside as much as possible and keep our spirits up.  COVID continues to give us extra time to deepen our relationships with each other and that is a blessing we all can use.  Stay safe out there everyone!
