DAYCARE STATUS - DAY 3

Once we stepped in the classroom this morning, a horrible crying scene commenced. I tried to take his coat off and he was squirming sporadically. Did he think that if his coat stayed on that he wouldn't have to stay? Oh, sorry Fuzzy. Teacher quickly and calmly picked up the wriggling child and tried in her best soothing tone to let him know he was safe and everything was OK.

The pickup last night was good, he was close to crying once he saw me, but recovered quickly and let me know where his coat was so we could head home. The interesting part is whenever we mention him going to school, he gets a smile on his face. I wish that things could have been a little calmer this morning so I could get some feedback from the teacher on how things have been going. The one thing she said (amidst the loud wailing and grabbing toddler) was that he did "sooo good yesterday", but I didn't get any details.

How long does this stage last? I know he's going to love the activities and group play, but wonder when he accepts this. It could be a lot worse....he could throw a tantrum in the parking lot forcing me to pick him up and carry him in, arms and legs kicking and screaming. That would suck. I hope that's not the plan for tomorrow morning...

He sounds just like his daddy to me. If I recall, Teague is the same way if you try to get him to go out to eat around 6:00 or (gasp) head to a restaurant in Portland. He kicks and screams about it until you get him there. Once he's settled, coat off and beer in hand, he's happy as a clam!

Ahhhh, like father like son!

Hey, after commuting through the middle of Portland traffic for almost 10 years the thought of going back over for "fun" on a saturday or friday still isn't overly enticing. That's what Papa Murphy's is for!! Or Taco Bell drive thru, or Arby's, or.......
