Brrrrrrrrr!

Quick update: Might as well throw in the mention of a few hours of very windy conditions friday afternoon.

Update: 12/11

Hmmmm........a lot of the TV and radio forecasts over the last 48 hours in my opinion don't look cold enough for monday - wednesday. KATU was showing mid to upper 30's for highs.......not likely at all. Sunday's prospects for snow are looking a bit better as some moisture should accompany the initial push of arctic air. Looks like the reinforcing shot of very cold air is still in the cards for mid-week and that one could be more of a snow maker.

Any comments?

Back by popular demand - it's TeagueCast time!

It sure looks like everything is lined up for the Arctic Express to pay us a visit, and in fact the latest computer models suggest a lengthy cold spell with even a reinforcing bonus shot of cold air later next week. This type of prolonged cold snap set-up hasn't happened in a long time and the last such occurrence was back when TeagueCast still had a full head of hair (yes, many years ago).

First things first......a cool system drops down from the north for plain 'ol rain on Friday but colder air comes in on the back end pushing snow levels down to the foothills late Friday/early Saturday, with snow probably mixing in lower in the heavier showers. Modified arctic air begins pressing down from the north and also east (via the Troutdale Outlet Stores) and any moisture left over late Saturday into Sunday would turn to all snow.

As the arctic air continues settling in Sunday's high probably won't make it up to freezing and high's early next week look to be in the mid to upper 20's. Frigid wind chills on the east side with lows in wind sheltered areas on Tuesday night well down into the teens.

From mid-week on additional snow chances hinge on whether or not we get some upper lows dropping down with moisture from the north. Too far out to say just yet...........but I'll be back with an update if snow turns out looking to be more widespread for this weekend.
