Christmas Meltdown

Sooooo lazy....

OK, so the tree has been up for over a week & a half and there continues to be exactly zero presents under the tree. Oh, the presents have been purchased, I just haven't wrapped anything yet. (Sidebar: I'm actually pretty pleased with how much of my shopping is completed so far). The boys and I don't have any plans for tomorrow, so maybe I will dig in then. Unfortunately, that doesn't really work for their presents, but what do you do? At least half of their gifts were purchased right in front of them. Is this the last year I can get away with that?

Anyway, next week the Christmas festivities seem to be ramping up and I currently have 4 different potlucks to plan for. Unmotivated at this time.

Hope you're enjoying this season so far. Although I've been incredibly lazy with a lot of things (aka, the photo Christmas card vs. hand-crafted), I'm really reveling in everything this time of year offers.

In closing, I leave you with a conversation I seem to have with Maddox daily:

Me: "OK, let's change the Santa (ie, countdown to Christmas decoration on the wall) and see how many days we have left. It looks like 16 days until Christmas. That means only 18 days until your birthday!"

Maddox: "And how many more days 'til Jesus's birthday?"

DOH! Slapping my hand against my head as I try to explain the reason for Christmas AGAIN...

Merry Christmas :)
