Some answers, still more questions

So I met with my surgeon today for what I had hoped would be the entire plan with all the answers I had been looking for. Not quite.

Here's what I do know: *I will be having a double mastectomy *my chemo treatments will be starting about 4 weeks after I'm healed from this surgery *this process is going to take longer than I had hoped *I won't be able to lift anything, including my 15lb baby for weeks after this surgery *I will be having another surgery once my treatments are done *I am going to need a lot of help with the kids *that the MRI revealed no other tumors anywhere .....praise the Lord!

Here's what I don't know: *what date my surgery will be (probably by month end, will get the date tomorrow)*if radiation is in my plan *if the cancer has traveled to any lymph nodes *if I'm at a Stage 2 or Stage 3 *if I'm carrying the cancer gene

NEXT STEP - I have a meeting with the plastic surgeon this Friday. At that time a date will have been set for my surgery, but this consult should be information regarding my recovery post-op, the reconstruction process during my treatment, & what exactly will be happening for the 2nd surgery. There is also an appointment with an oncologist at the end of the month to talk about my treatment plan specifics. Overwhelming to say the least.

Good news I came away with: if this timing plays out, I should still have hair for Christmas :) My sweet husband suggested I get my hair done and I believe I'll take him up on it!

Girl, you are one of the strongest women I know. Even amidst circumstances that would get the best of most everyone, you are making me smile with your positive outlook and jokes about your hair!
Thank you for keeping us posted via this blog. So many people love you, Nicole. You have been a true friend and a huge source of encouragement (and lots of funny sentiments!) to so many.
I will definitely come help with the kids, meals, laundry, cleaning...whatever is necessary at the time. Heck, what am I saying? When isn't all that stuff necessary?!
I do know this....you have a great support group and cheerleading section! We will be there for WHATEVER you need, WHENEVER you need it.
