Next Step

So where am I at now in my recovery?  I'm in a pretty great spot right now.  I feel completely normal and have even been running for the last couple of weeks.  I don't have any more treatments.....ever!  I've got a bunch of appointments, though, and some surgeries.  Next week I've got a bone density scan, a Survivorship appointment (??), then a CT scan the following week, and an Oncology appointment.

In July, I'll check in with my Plastic Surgeon to make sure everything is still looking OK and I'll have my implant surgery on Tuesday, August 7th.  I understand this to be a same-day surgery with a 2-4 week recovery time.  As long as I'm done by September 5th, the 1st day of school, I'll be doing awesome.  Unfortunately, Miss Presley will be turning 1 a mere 10 days after surgery, so I won't be able to carry her on her birthday :(   On the upside, she shows signs of walking by then anyway.

After that, I think the only thing procedure-wise I'll have left is a bit of liposuction (woo-hoo!) to fill in some areas around the implant to make them look more natural.  I'm hoping Dr. Gabriel is OK with taking more fat out than he needs :)

Then I think I'm done!!!!  It's kind of ironic that I was diagnosed with breast cancer 3 days after National Breast Cancer Month (October) ended and I'll have beaten my cancer and completely recovered by the time that month starts out again this year.  Crazy!!!

Prayers I need: um, don't really have any major concerns coming up.....just that my August surgery goes well and my recovery is as easy as this last surgery.

Happy Father's Day!
