I know, I'm late as technically today is the beginning of a new week and I didn't post last week. It was a busy time so you'll have to pardon me.

On Thursday Dylan, Presley and I joined the 1st grade class of Marrion Elementary on a Field Trip to a place called "Tranquility Nature Area" which is a fancy way of saying a small woodsy area a few blocks from the school (budget cuts anyone?). The day was slated to be warm and everyone was in great spirits. We basically took an hour to hike throughout the various trails and just look at nature. Of course the boys in my group noticed the steep dirt hill and scrambled up immediately enticing other groups to scurry up as well. Presley and I stayed below and watched as most had to scoot on their bottoms all the way down, although Presley put up a fight to join the others. Afterward the kids gathered at the school field for various fun stations filled with bubbles, crafts and games and ended the event with a picnic lunch under the big tree. It was fun joining Maddox and observing him in his habitat while commiserating with other chaperones over excessive volume and hyperactivity.
On Friday Presley and I joined Dylan's preschool class for an end of the year (and preschool career) party. Dylan was very close to a number of his classmates and teachers so this was pretty emotional for me. Most of his classmates would head off to Kindergarten at the same school while Dylan would join Maddox at Marrion. Luckily he was in good spirits and made the most of this last day. Here are his favorite pals. Thank you Cornerstone for providing Dylan a loving Christian foundation for learning and making him feel treasured each time he came through the door.
