Christmas Meltdown

Christmas Meltdown

Halfway done and we're not ready!

So it's approaching the middle of August and I'm starting to panic a little.....I'm not ready for summer to be over!  I'm not ready for the cold weather (although I am looking for an excuse to wear the adorable pink lace-up Ugg boots) or the rain.  I'm not even remotely done with the Summer Bucket List we created in June.  I'm not ready to dive back into Fundraiser prep & PTA meetings.  I'm not ready for soccer to be over for the boys as they are really hitting their stride.  I'm not ready to go through the children's clothing and weed out the too-small stuff and bring in the next size up.  And I'm certainly not ready for Presley to turn 2 on Saturday!

There are a few things I am ready for, however.  I'm ready for Dylan to go to Kindergarten.  That's not to say I won't miss him terribly, but he needs a lot more stimulus each day including directive from others that are not myself.  I'm ready for Presley to get out of her diapers.  We are at the very beginning stages of toilet training and I long for the day that diapers will not be part of my regimen.

I also miss things that Fall brings: a new topic for my Women's Bible Study.   Re-dedication to finding new recipes that work for my family.  Decorating for the season.

As these last few weeks pass, I am trying to fit in all the things we (correction: "I") wanted to do this summer:
visit North Clackamas Aquatic Park, finishing up the Library Summer Reading Plan, more tennis with the boys, more bike rides, etc.

I pray the weather stays warm for the rest of the month, that we get rested prior to the new school year, and that we find fun in every last thing we do!  Next June is a long way off.

But still worth starting a countdown for :)
