'Tis the season to hunt down Doorbusters.....  What is a doorbuster?  You know, that crazy good deal you find around Christmas time?  Think "gift of the year" for a fraction of the retail price/Black Friday mayhem-type deal.  Teague has a gift for locating such deals and delights in procuring these highly-sought-after items.  He has his various tricks & tools and really focuses on the ads.  That's not to say this process is without its drawbacks: countless hours scanning online web deals, trips to multiple locations, etc.  I don't really have the patience for it, but it sure is nice to be married to someone who does.  Win-win for me!

Last night Teague discovered a crazy (almost) half-price deal rumored to be going on at that very moment.  Never mind that it was 10:30pm, he headed up to Walmart & snagged the item before I had finished my episode of "Scandal."  It saved me a trip as the original ad was supposed to start the following morning at 8am and the 3 items Teague saw in stock could have been gone by the time I got there.  Considering it is an item one of the boys wants desperately and the price was $37 instead of $70, Teague's scouring absolutely paid off....a Doorbuster for sure!

This is a prevalent thought on my mind today because my fantastic in-laws have offered to watch all the kids tomorrow so Teague and I can get our Christmas shopping started (& hopefully completed).  This will be such a blessing!  I've made a list (of course) of items to look at & our best route to maximize our time.  This will be the earliest I've ever really shopped for Christmas and it's very unlike me to do anything Christmas-y until after Thanksgiving.  I figure that I should capitalize on this motivation while I have because it's bound to disintegrate over the next month.
