Crazy Baseball!!!!

Well this week was going to be a crazy week in baseball....the first of many over the next 2 months.  Here's what the week looked like as of last Sunday evening:

Monday: Maddox's baseball practice
Tuesday: Dylan's baseball practice
Wednesday: Maddox's 1st game
Thursday: Dylan's 1st game
Saturday: Opening Ceremony
Saturday: Maddox's practice game/scrimmage

Here's what actually happened:

Monday: practiced as scheduled

Tuesday: practiced as scheduled

Wednesday: sprinkled, but Maddox dressed & headed to the game.  I dropped off child #2 & child #3 at Grandma's after shoveling dinner down at 4:45pm.  During dropoff I picked up Grandpa for the game and we headed over.  During the 10 minute drive, my cell phone rang 6 times, but I didn't get it.  As I got to the ballpark, I parked and checked my phone as I saw Teague walking over....apparently although our team was dressed and ready to go, there was no other team to play.  The schedule we were using was not the final schedule and we actually didn't have a game after all.  This would cause mass confusion for the whole team over the next day while we secured the actual schedule, updated our calendars and realized that we had a game earlier this week that we forfeited since we weren't aware of it.

Thursday: Dylan's game got rained out

Saturday: We still are obligated to be fully dressed for both teams and up at the ballpark at 9:45am.  At 10:45am Dylan is scheduled for a practice and Maddox has an actual game at 4:30pm

This kind of last-minute flexibility requirement is not something that comes easily or natural to me.  I'm trying to go with the flow, but......

LET'S PLAY BALL!
