HAPPY 2021 EVERYONE!!!
Can we all agree that 2020 was super retched for the most part?? Unfortunately, there haven't been enough changes yet to 2021 so it really feels like 2020 is stretching out and bleeding into what was hoped to be a brand new chapter.
The blog is going to look sparse going forward compared to last year. Without the "2020 Joy" resolution I was documenting daily, I'm not taking very many pictures anymore. That, coupled with the fact most of the world is shut down, results in few photos taken during the month.
Here are the January 2021 highlights
We got word that elementary students would be heading back to school 2x per week soon. As Presley matures, she requires a new morning routine including daily showers and hair preparation. The timing worked beautifully as Auntie Rhacelle donated this adorable vanity to Presley. We purchased her own hair dryer and straightening iron to practice once she is officially called back into school.
Have I ever mentioned how much she DESPISES having her hair dried? Using her own utilities hasn't diminished this animosity and her hair isn't hardly dried at all afterward, but I'm hopeful this gets better with practice.
Here's a pic of Presley at a playdate where she practiced babysitting and dog walking. Just being around these children for a few hours completely made her day! This isolation has been a nightmare for both her and Dylan.
This kid texts multiple pics of he and Diesel throughout week while I'm at work. It's pretty adorable.
Major milestone alert! A ridiculously long 2.5 years after his initial ortho consult.....
The braces are finally here! Although these 2 pics were taken less than 2 hours apart, he looks so much older now!
OK.....so this is an old pic. But it's super cute, right? I just noticed that I didn't take any pics of Dylan this month, but I absolutely wanted to share that he applied for, and was accepted, into the ASB at school this month. He made a very strong case on why he is an excellent candidate for student government and landed right where he wanted: Sports Marketing Cabinet. I'm so excited for him and his meetings start right away. I'm beyond thrilled for and proud of him.
Ayden joined us for a sleepover which prompted a late evening Crumbl run for the best cookies in the world.
The start date of Presley's new Hybrid 4th grade class is set for early February! She will be with a new teacher and is even more excited that her favorite friend will be in her class & hybrid cohort group.
Also, both boys finished the 1st semester above a 3.6 GPA. All that hard work looks amazing on these report cards! Super proud as they both have 2 accelerated classes this semester. Remote Learning is no joke and the stress of it all is very real.
That is the excitement for January 2021. I am thrilled the COVID case numbers are decreasing and hopeful that life can transition back to normal safely. Fingers crossed!
