Hello! The bad news is the world is still battling COVID-19, but there is some good news: the vaccines are being distributed (got my 2nd shot on Feb 8th!) and the kids are back to school in a limited capacity! Finally!
Here's Presley on her 1st day of Hybrid Learning which means she is at her school on Tuesdays and Fridays and she accesses online school work on the other days of the week. It's not ideal, but I'm thrilled for her! She has one of her favorite friends in her class and she is enjoying all of it.
The school's PTA raised enough money to buy masks with their mascot on it for every child.
One ongoing problem we have had for years is Presley's inability to keep her room tidy. In this instance her room had looked like this for over a week. The incentive that finally worked on her getting her room clean was being included in our family Superbowl Party. She finished right at the coin toss.
Maddox loves Diesel so much and I continue to get messages and cute texted pics from him daily.
We had snow this month and lots of it! Over the span of a few days, it looked like we had about 12 inches of snow. Due to this year's Remote Learning process, the kids got to enjoy the snow and access their school work on their own time so we don't have to make the 2 would-be-snow-days this year. Bonus!
Presley, Dylan, Teague and myself walked over to visit Grandma in the snow. We haven't been able to see her hardly at all this whole year so this was a treat for all of us.
Of course the snow days would not be complete without the enjoyment of Red Rocket and Yankee Clipper!
Although Presley and Maddox were up for our traditional walk up to Starbucks for hot cocoa in the snow, we were greatly disappointed upon arrival that the governor had just issued a "go home" order for workers in the city and Starbucks was closed. So sad! The fact that the snow was so thick made this extra devastating as the walk took so much longer than ever before. Upon our return home I brought out the good cocoa powder and created some amazing beverages on my own.
This month Teague and I decided that we should celebrate "Marg Fridays." Until the end of February, most venues were not open or operating only outdoors. Most Fridays found us at Jorge's Margarita Factory kicking off the weekend. I always order the same beverage, but Teague likes to mix it up every week. The theme-y margaritas often come out with amusing props. This one below is called the "Horny Toad" as it contains Hornitas tequila.
This is my ol' standby: the Million Dollar Margarita. With the champs, it's like multiple drinks in one!
I can't remember the name of Teague's margarita in this pic, but the photo does not do the size justice. This glass was gigantic!!!
On the last Saturday of February, my sweet niece and her Australian fiancée were finally able to tie the knot exactly 5 months from their original wedding date. The gorgeous venue in the Gorge was eclipsed only by the stunning couple and the magic only a wedding can bring. In a beautiful God-blessed miracle, Jake's parents were able to attend this wedding in person making it absolutely perfect. We were so honored to join in their special day.
Presley has been spending more and more time watching TV and less time on previous hobbies (like reading), so I passed along a chapter book series to see if it would renew her interest and she is enjoying it so far. Yay! These books have at least 8 novels in the series and are well over 500 pages each. I hope to keep her busy for awhile.
Those are the highlights. Dylan also got to come back to school, but his 1st day of school photo wasn't captured until March so more on that next month. The world is SLOWLY starting to open and it's about time!
See you in March!
