June 2023

Happy summer, everyone! Here is what the Rakoz family was up to in the month of June, 2023.

This was Presley's last game to cheer for, the consolation bracket for girls basketball.  It was held at Union High School and was a great game to finish the season on.  Also, we won!

With an upcoming staff bowling tournament coming up, me and fellow teammate, Jenny Clark, brought our families to Big Al's to practice.  I did horribly the first game, but she and I both managed to earn a 114 on the second game.  We're ready!

Teague and I have known Jenny and her husband for years (since college, for Teague). Their daughter, Madi, and Dylan were classmates at Shahala, but are now in separate high schools.  It was great to see them all.

My work/school brought back our staff bowling tournament this year named The Big Shahalebowski.

I customized some shirts for my team called "Too Legit to Split."  Here's a rare moment of success for me.

Too Legit to Split

This is the face I make when Dylan texts me that the "B" in his Child Psychology class earned him 7 college credits!

Dylan participated in the dress up day at school "Anything but a Backpack."

Here's a pic of Presley's spring season softball team.

Presley's last regular season game.

With another bestie, True.

With her fave, Aliya.

Presley had her last Choir concert of the school year.  She really loves to sing.

This pic encapsulates the cheer season pretty well.  It was taken at our end-of-year party and was filled with dancing, singing, lots of selfies and snacks.  I will miss this team!

Sometimes I spot these 2 practicing.....TOGETHER!  It's amazing!

I got this texted to me from Maddox: it's Dylan getting tackled to the ground by his buddies at lunch.  Some things never change.

Someone FINALLY got his braces off.....

Before

After!

I was lucky enough to once again chaperone the 8th Grade trip to Bullwinkles.  I had so much fun!

I found some peeps bowling and tried to make up for my terrible performance from the tournament.

Last Day Pics

Maddox - 11th grade (all Juniors wore their 'Senior' shirts on the last day)

Dylan - 9th Grade

Presley - 6th Grade

Me and my girl celebrating her first year of middle school.  She did amazing!

Presley and her friend/fellow cheerleader, Daisy

These two.  Frenemies/bro-sis.  Despite the looks on these faces, I know deep down they love each other.

This is one of my absolute favorite 8th graders moving on to high school.  She is so adorable, and while I'm happy for her, I will miss her terribly.

June means All Star season in the Rakoz house.  Here is Presley's intimidation poster that gets hung on the dugout for her games.

Here she is with her All Star team.  She did amazing this season.

Here's a pic of Dylan in his dorm room at Football Camp.  It was held at Linfield College and I was so excited for him to get a taste for college life.

He loved the cafeteria.

Here's a pic of him with his fave, Aiden

Teague and I were treated to some wine tasting at Airfield Winery during a date night.

That officially wraps up our June. Teague ended the month with a weeklong business trip to St. Louis, Missouri, which he was not a big fan of, and Presley and I volunteered at Vacation Bible school at our church, which I neglected to get pictures of. (Mom fail). It was a busy end of the month and we’re all looking forward to relaxing in July!
