June 2024

So many fun and exciting things happened in June 2024!  June typically signifies a lot of wrapping up of things: spring sport seasons, school years, and this year we had our first high school graduate!  While you will not be surprised that I didn't capture all of the wonderful memories and details of the big events we celebrated this month (same story), I did catch a few.

One thing I did NOT catch was a pic of Presley joining in on some Volleyball Open Gyms that are taking place each Monday.  This is offered by a Volleyball Club at a nearby church and there are a lot of talented players there.  Presley is getting a ton of skills practice and I can see some real growth already.

First up on the celebrations was the End-of-the-Year Cheer Party!  Cheer is the only sport at school that lasts the entire year long and I was more than ready to close this year out.  We had an Ice Cream Nacho Party with tons of sugar and ended with tons of tears. This year I had 2 8th grade students that have been doing cheer all 3 years that I have coached and it is bittersweet to send them off to high school next year.

FINALLY!  After 12+ years

(including Kindergarten and Pre-School) of nagging, permission slips, school supplies, assessments, friendships, activities, etc. MADDOX HAS GRADUATED!!!!  Words cannot express how proud we are of our Senior. He finished high school with a 3.48 cumulative GPA and no specific plans whatsoever. Huh???!!!

Seniors were in the stands prior to the graduation ceremony.

It was a super warm and gorgeous Saturday. Maddox's guests included Grandma and Auntie Michele.

Can you spot him in this pic?

He seemed happy enough to spare us from complaints from all the photos we took today.

Maddox and his better half, Chloe

Maddox's graduation was the first of a very busy day for me and Presley.  After a celebratory lunch, Presley and I headed off to her End-of-the-(softball)-Season Team and Parent Scrimmage.

Immediately afterward, Presley and I raced home and freshened up for Graduation #2.....niece/cousin Kaitlyn also graduated from Oregon City High School that day

She was an incredible student and is headed to my alma mater, Western Oregon University in the fall.

Immediately after that event, we raced back up to the ballpark to watch Dylan's very last Seniors Baseball game. He has officially graduated out of little league and enjoyed one last victory with his team.

Kellen and Cole have been with Dylan since the beginning (t-ball) and they each pitched out the last 3 batters to end their little league career.

Not wanting the celebration to end, the team and parents all celebrated at Ice Cream Renaissance to cap off the day.

Once again I was chosen to help chaperone the 8th Grade Field Trip at school. This year we rented out Round 1 at the mall.

One of my favorite co-workers turned 40 this month so I helped throw a 40th Fiesta for the birthday girl.

We threw a joint Graduation Party for Maddox and Cooper. A lot of other families had the same idea so there were many competing parties that day, but we had a lot of people come by to celebrate our Grad Bros.

We offered customed Grad Bros energy drinks

And a popcorn bar station

This board was so much fun to make!

Unfortunately Chloe was out of town and her plane was delayed so she missed the party. When supplies ran low, we sent Dylan out to the store.  So happy he has his license!

Dylan with Grad Bro #2

Amber and Ryan prepared an amazing pulled pork street taco feast.  Everyone raved about the food

Maddox was pretty good about being social for his guests.

Then came the last day of school for Dylan (Sophomore)

and Presley, last day of 7th grade

This is Presley with her fave cheer teammate. Presley will miss Malia the most. This girl is a doll and I'm so proud she was chosen to cheer at Union HS.  She will have a blast there!

Here are 2 of my favorite 8th graders. They visited me in my office multiple times per day. This is typically what they do when they visit. They are both looking to play basketball and football and I can't wait to hear how they are enjoying high school

This is a perfect example of what the Counseling Center looks like every morning before class starts. Most of these girls are on my cheer team, but others gravitate in here as well.

This pic was taken at the End-of-Day Assembly which is a tradition every year. Ms Ellis is in charge of the slideshow, but this pic is mostly to show one of my all-time fave students (& the other 8th grade cheerleader that is moving on). I don't know what next year will be like without Sofia coming in constantly. It still hasn't hit me yet.

Isn't this the cutest End-of-the-Year gift???

On Juneteenth the Mt View Thunder Football Squad had a scrimmage against 2 other teams. Dylan is #7 and started as a slot receiver and played most of the offensive plays and some on defense.  Spring Football is in full swing.

I'm not sure if you'll be able to see this video, but Dylan is blocking on the right side.

I can give the excuse that I was at work, but I failed to take a pic of Dylan before he headed out to Pacific University for football camp.  He had a blast, but came home with turf burns all over his arms and legs.

Kaitlyn had her graduation party at a neighborhood park and we enjoyed hanging in the sun playing football and volleyball

Here's Dylan (and his super heavy luggage) after football camp. I told him I had to stop by work and sign my timesheet, but we discovered a lot of donated chips....and took this gigantic box home!

For an End-of-the-School year gift for Presley, I ordered a volleyball net. Within a few days Maddox had organized a Mt View Grad Volleyball event where a bunch of his friends came over to play.  It's awesome!  I am especially pleased that they allow Presley and Dylan to play also. These games take place every other day or so.

Grandma invited us over for dessert to celebrate a successful school year

The Beardmores got a new puppy!  This is Fergus (Ferguson Bryson DeChambeau Beardmore) and he couldn't be any more adorable! I dropped off a bag of gifts including this stuffie that I'm determined will be his favorite

The kids just love him!

We wrapped up the month with dinner & ice cream.  It's been a whirlwind and July will be a lot slower.  I plan on relaxing!

Thanks for catching up with us.  Enjoy your summer!
