August 2024

The summer seemed to be flying by and August always brings a panic of sorts as I try to maximize the empty days and warm weather.  Here are some highlights:

Presley joined Dylan and I for one more pool day.  The diving board got a lot of use by all of us that day

Auntie Michele, Kaitlyn, and I had an early celebration for Presley's birthday at the Cheesecake Factory

They opened a Dutch Bros super close to our house!  The day before their official opening, me and a former PTA board member snagged a free drink.

Early August is when I head back to work/school for the year.  Once I start, this is what my evenings consist of.  I'm always super slammed until school starts and those 3 weeks are my least favorite of the entire year.

A former co-worker was cleaning out their office and wanted me to pass this along to Dylan.  This is absolutely the right house for this!

Dylan secured a short-term job as a door hanger for a flooring company.  Here he is heading out on his first route.

Presley was invited to support a fellow volleyball friend at a tournament in Seaside with some coaches and players from her volleyball open gym/camps.

Happy 13th Birthday Presley!  This is her first time officially riding in the front seat.  She made it!

Our 1st stop on the Presley's 13th Birthday Tour was to claim her free Dutch Bros drink

Later on we celebrated with a party at the house.  Here's the lemonade bar.

The weather was beautiful so we were able to enjoy the deck and some volleyball.

Peanut Butter Brownies for birthday dessert

First Day of School for the 24.25 school year

Dylan: Junior

Presley: 8th Grade

The last Friday of the month found us at Doc Harris stadium watching Dylan in his Varsity debut at a Football Jamboree.  The weather was hot and it was an exciting time as Mountain View played a short scrimmage against Camas HS and Evergreen HS.  This hardworking badass was in for every offensive play for both games and caught 3 passes.  He also played some defense as well.  It was so exciting to watch and we're looking forward to the season opener next week.

This is a huckleberry margarita to-go.  Where have these been all my life?

That's it for August.  It was a great summer and I miss it already.
