August 2025

Happy August!  This month was full of super hot weather and I was here for it!

I invited my sweet friend, Angie, over to enjoy Paddleboarding at Lacamas Lake one afternoon.  We had a blast just relaxing on the water, catching up and ending with lunch at Mesa

We have been friends for close to 30 years and she is such a fun person to hang out with

One of Teague's favorite things to do is spend time at the slots at the Ilani Casino & Resort up in La Center. He is constantly getting offers of a free night stay and he loves to redeem the offer.  At the beginning of the month, I joined him to 'help' spend the food/restaurant credits he's racked up.

For dinner, we enjoyed Rock n' Brew

We also enjoyed an amazing breakfast at Thomas Urban.

Dylan now has a job as Crowd Control for an event management company. So far his jobs are all for outdoor concerts at McMenamins Edgefield.

Here he is on his first day.

This is a terrible picture, but Teague and I met Angie and her newly retired husband, Travis, out for dinner

This month Presley turned 14!  After a quick morning at home, we headed to Church. After the service (which Teague, Dylan and his friend Trey attended), we got to watch Presley get baptized by her youth/favorite Pastor Jamin. This was such a special event and a great way to spend her birthday.

I spotted Dylan's Insta status which showed Presley's baptism and a birthday emoji. What a softie!

Later that afternoon we watched Presley open her gifts and enjoyed dinner at the Olive Garden

The day has come: Presley is a Freshman in High School. She joined her classmates at the school to take pics, tour the facility and get a feel for the place she will call a 2nd home for the next 4 years.

Here is a recognition card Maddox received at work. We made sure to put it on the fridge. I'm glad others are seeing his good efforts and pass some praise along

Here is a bunch of letters I sent out to try and raise sponsorship money for Dylan's Football team.

Presley spent a ton of time with her Church youth group this summer. They have so many fun activities planned and a lot Volleyball was played

One exciting thing for our area this month is that Washington's very first In-n-Out Burger opened up in Ridgefield. While it's still a good 20+ minutes away, our school district's classified group decided to go on strike and I took Presley and Dylan to the new location on my unexpected day off.

As always, the food did not disappoint!

Real Football practices have begun. You can tell by the amount of complaints from Dylan on all his aches and pains

I had to take a photo of this because Coco absolutely HATES me and never comes to me on her own....I think the electric blanket had a lot to do with it

Here is Dylan's Football schedule. Wish us luck!

As I stated above, me and the kids have not yet started our school year. However, when that day finally comes, Dylan will be hitting Senior Sunrise as his first official act as a senior. This year is going to fly by (sniff, sniff)

That's it for August!  Stay tuned for September where I will highlight the 1st day of school, Presley's Slow Pitch Softball, Dylan's Football and whatever else we're up to!
