Hello Spring!
Where's Dylan? I snagged this pic from the school's Instagram page and laughed out loud at Dylan's facial expression. This was taken during a very spirited basketball game earlier this year |
Spring in the Rakoz house means Ball Season and this year is no exception. Here is the whirlwind of photos capturing the month of March.
Dylan's gigantic Varsity Baseball wardrobe...7 different jerseys!
Presley's Varsity Softball wardrobe
March Madness begins again. How do you keep up on your brackets during work hours? Why, you just wheel in the big screen and huddle by the front desk with the rest of your co-workers
Presley continues to enjoy success at Volleyball tournaments with her club team on the weekends
Luckily one of our tournaments was held in Hockinson so Teague and Grandma came to watch Presley
I got this box of truffles from a co-worker who "saw this and thought of you." How precious is that??
Presley's high school Varsity Softball debut
The following week she was the starting pitcher. She was able to help her team by fielding and throwing to 1st base for multiple outs as well as throwing some strikes
From Presley's game, I was able to look and spot my favorite baseball player at practice
She is really enjoying her teammates
Although she has also played 2nd base this season, if she is not pitching, she enjoys playing centerfield best
Putting up some good stats for a 2-day tournament. Who would have thought Mt View could be Skyview??
During lunch at school on Wednesdays, there is a group meeting called "REACH" for faith-based students to gather with pizza and snacks. Presley was invited to this group one afternoon by one of her teammates and saw a lot of familiar faces there.
Presley and her friend Hannah
I was half dreading this baseball matchup - Mt View v Union (where I work). Mt View always loses horrifically when playing against Union and it's a hard pill to swallow. Well, it was a beautiful night for baseball! The weather was nice and Dylan had some great action in the field, even snagging a pop fly. The ending score was the cherry on top!
This pic was something I looked forward to all week! Dylan and Gunner have been friends/teammates/rivals since they were in Kindergarten. Although they no longer attend the same school and have competed against each other for the last 4 years, I'm so grateful I got this moment with the two of them as they stepped on the field together for the last time.
Right after this baseball game (that ended after 8pm), Presley and I headed south to Medford for a 2-day Volleyball tournament that started the following morning. We didn't get to bed until after 2am!
She is amazing at serving. Check her out!
After Day 1, 14-1 Force was in 1st Place
Not only did Dylan earn the game winning ball of their league opening game against Prairie High School, but he was mentioned in The Columbian the following day. Good job, Buddy!
Yes most, if not all of the pics were of sports (mostly base/softball) this month, but that's all we've had time for lately. Heading to the coast for Spring Break early next month!
