Just one of the gang

So this morning started out like any other Thursday morning: drop Maddox off at his classroom, then headed into the Family Room (lobby) of the church to help with check-in of the Thursday morning Women's Bible Study. Now as this is the beginning of a new season, some of the ladies need more help checking in which leaves less time for me to keep my eye on Dylan who is ALWAYS running around gleefully like a crazy person. I'm not able to drop him off in the childcare for about 30 minutes or so which is challenging as I phased out the stroller months ago. As long as he stays in view, I'm not too worried about him as he's very familiar with the common areas and most of the people inhabiting the area.

Once I realized that it was time to check Dylan into childcare (after a particularly busy check-in), I discovered that he wasn't in the Family Room anymore. I started walking down the various hallways, his usual places to run, the bathrooms, etc., I still didn't see him. I asked one of the ladies if she'd seen him going a specific way and she let me know there were a bunch of children walking down the hall and he just joined in. Figures.

I strode purposefully down the hall to Maddox's classroom and saw Dylan sitting next to his brother waiting for storytime. Nice try, Buddy. The wails that emitted as I snatched him up and carried him off were audible from every corner of the building. Don't worry, Sweetie, you'll be ready to join the rest of the gang next September.
