IS SPRING ALMOST OVER OR JUST BEGINNING?

Back in late fall I figured this would be a busy winter for Teaguecasting, but so far the East and now Midwest has been stealing all of the good stuff. Sure there was our pre-Thanksgiving arctic blast but even with that the snowfall was pathetically meager - all 15 minutes of it.

In December it looked like our time was coming, but noooooo, more snow for the East instead, just like last winter. Then in early January things seemed to be lining up for big time snows for us, and at one point weather models signaled impending back to back snowstorms. Despite me yammering on and on to my family about the snow chances I didn’t pull the trigger on a TeagueCast as things were just a bit too much in the “iffy” category. Instead of mountains of glorious snow we saw a bit of ice, 16 minutes worth this time, and then warm, heavy rains for many days. If that wasn’t bad enough, most of January felt more like spring and much to my disappointment I was cleaning up moss instead of snow.

With Groundhog’s Day tomorrow our winter could very well be over. However, I think (hope) that there’s one last chance of a decent cold and/or snowy spell in mid February. (Yes, it can snow in March, but usually that’s just bark dust snow that melts off in a few hours). Or maybe our winter will exit with a whimper. So for those of you that didn’t get too bored with this post and are still reading I do have a summer forecast to fill you in on: The forecast for August calls for mostly diapers and a high likelihood of limited sleep. In mid August #3 is due! Yes, Nicole is pregnant with Baby Rakoz 3.0 and we are very excited and probably just a little bit crazy.
