Out with the old, in with the new!

We signed the papers this week to sell our old house.  Yay!  It's so amazing to me how long and arduous this process of selling the house was.  I mean, Teague worked so hard fixing things and pruning the yard, we had a contractor install new carpet and paint some of the rooms, and Rhacelle and Dorette staged the place just beautifully before even putting it on the market and it still took close to 30 days for the bank, Title company, etc. to push the sale through.  It's been empty for almost 2 months!  I don't know of any other industry where non-communication and in-the-dark, last second requirements are acceptable practice.  So much delay without good reason just doesn't make sense to me.  We accepted an offer on January 3rd or 4th, but didn't record as sold until the 31st?  Slackers.

Other than that, we are thrilled that someone sees that house as potential for a happy family.  Although we were not super excited to hear the buyer will be using the house as a rental, I'm hoping a nice family can appreciate what a great starter home it is.  So much has happened since Teague and I first got the keys (turning 30, engagement, wedding, Baby 1, Baby 2, starting Preschool, Baby 3, starting Kindergarten, death of beloved family, cancer, death of beloved kitty etc.) and that house was a source of rest and comfort through it all.

Thank you, 1500 NE 92nd Avenue, for sheltering us through snowstorms and heat waves.  You were a dream come true and I pray your new residents will treat you with the love and care you deserve.

I'm so behind!! I had no idea until April that you were in a new house. I hope you are loving every second in your new and improved pad.
