July 2017 - WELCOME SUMMER!!!

Hello out there!  July 2017 was such a nice change with its great weather, vacation days and relaxing schedule.  Here are the highlights:

In July, Maddox's All Star Tournament began.  The 11-12 team lost the 1st game in the double elimination tournament, but won the next 2 games before getting knocked out after Game 4.  It was a great experience to be part of (at least from the stands).

 That's some big effort there!

On 4th of July we continued our tradition of blasting the children with water balloons from the deck (wow, it sounds pretty harsh, right?!).  The kids are such good sports about it.

Not getting enough water balloon action from the family, the kids engaged in another water balloon frenzy with the Beardmore boys later that evening.

The family joined some friends for ourr first Triple A Baseball Game and cheered on the Portland Pickles.  Although the weather was brutally hot, the kids enjoyed the event.

The kids got matching tattoos.  Big boys selected the Star of David (huh??!!) and the youngers opted for flaming skulls, while Presley adorned the Little Mermaid.

  Pics with "Dillon," the mascot.

After Basketball Camp, we took advantage of Free Slurpee Day from 7-11

Dylan and Arvedys (his Small Group Leader) at VBS this year.  The theme was "Operation Artic."  Dylan was a Brown Polar Bear and Presley was an Emerald Husky.  Here they were on dress-up day.

And here's a cute pic of all the Volunteers and their children.  It takes a LOT of bodies to put on this huge event every year.

The kids and I visited Camas Pool for the first time and had a great time.....until some kid puked and we had to evacuate.  We received some free tokens for next time, tho.

The last week in July found us in Lincoln City at our favorite beach house.  Here's a pic from the sand, as the house is about 100ft up a cliff.  If you look closely, you can see one of the kids (Maddox, I think) on the 2nd floor deck.

My main squeeze.  This lucky guy cashed in $1000 at the casino.  Thanks Chinook Winds!  Can you say 'shopping spree'??

These kids were in the hot tub everyday.

This was such a fun month and I hope the kids look back on these memories as fondly as I do.  'Til next time!
