Happy New Year!
January was a slow month, as all Januarys can be. Our schedules were wide open and we had the opportunity to slow things down a bit and get a little more sedentary. Although I'm sure I will get these moments completely out of chronological order, here are the highlights for the month:
Presley lost her very 1st tooth! No tears even!
Daddy treated the boys to their very 1st Blazer game! We had really great seats and the game was a really fun time. We played against the Spurs and although Lillard wasn't playing, the action was intense and came down to a game-winning buzzer beater for the win. Amazing experience for the boys.

Getting swag for their very 1st Blazer game.

While Daddy and Maddox took their seats, Dylan and I headed to the 300 level Kid-zone for some fun activities before the game started

If you look really close you can see Daddy and Maddox across a few sections.

While we all cheered our hearts out for the Blazers, Presley got spoiled by Grandma and Grandpa complete with her favorite meal and snacks, new pj's and a scavenger hunt with treats. She was in absolute heaven!

Our cats are obsessed with jumping in the bathtub. Coco enjoys joining us in the bath more than Diesel, but I'm incredulous that either would opt to jump in.

Dylan is starting to get excited about cooking. His fave dish to create is pancakes.

Here's a pancake in the letter "D"

For Dylan's birthday I got him a Red Robin giftcard and he treated me to a lunch where he said I could order whatever I wanted. More importantly, he could order whatever HE wanted....like this strawberry shake! Such a sweet and generous kid.

Coco enjoying a girly cat nap

I spent one of my lunch breaks over at Wy'east watching Maddox getting recognized for earning a 3.8 GPA in the 1st trimester. No, this isn't Maddox at the front of the stage. As I've mentioned before, I haven't figured out how to post a video which is what I took when Maddox was introduced. However, this is his best buddy, Ayden, getting his award, but Maddox is in the bottom left corner of the picture in the blue shirt. That counts, right?

I took one of my personal days to join Presley and her class in Downtown Portland at the Children's Theatre Production of "Pete the Cat." It was a cute play and Presley and I had a wonderful time together.

Here's my little group. Ironically, you can't really see Presley in the bottom corner.

Bus selfie...a field trip tradition

There is a proposed bond up for election next month. If it's passed, all the schools the kids have attended or will attend will be completely rebuilt including the school I work at. Needless to say, I'm praying this bond gets passed! Here's a pic of me and some work peeps as we flooded a neighborhood distributing door hangers. I can always count on Dylan to help me with civic and community service. I'm so grateful for his help!

Dylan participated in another basketball tournament with his school friends. They lost the first game by 2 points in overtime, but won the second game.

Daddy brought home a cat tower for the Twins that needed to be assembled.....cue the LEGO masters. It was awesome seeing these boys actually work together and tackle this project. The kitties love it!
That's January for the Rakoz Family! After being on a waiting list to play basketball this season, Dylan was assigned to a team and started practice. Stay tuned to see how the season goes. Unfortunately, Maddox will have to sit this season out as the community center does not offer a league for his age group. Until next month.....
