JUNE 2021

Howdy all!  June brought us a few endings as we wrapped up Track season, the school year, and Baseball season.

The weather was so awesome (in my opinion) as we reached record temperatures by month's end.  I will say that Dylan's Track team also felt the scorching heatwave during the District Meet, but I was very proud of him for qualifying for 4 events.  Here's how he ended up for the season:

He's more than ready to take on a leadership role when Track season starts back up in August.

Dylan's baseball season also wrapped up this month.  I think Coach Teague was really looking forward to getting his evenings back.

Here's a random pic (but only 1 of many) of Maddox and his BFF, Diesel.  I think this is their favorite place to be.....together......on my favorite pink blanket

June 16th marked the last day of the worst school year ever.  I am not sorry to see this year come to an end, but I will admit that the kids did really well.  Working at a public school and being on campus every school day this year gave me a lot of insight on how other families and students handled this pandemic year and I'm really proud of each one of these kids for finishing strong.  Both boys got 5/6 A's and made the Honor Roll once again.

  Last Day of 4th Grade

  Last Day of 7th Grade

Last Day of 9th Grade (Freshman Year)

I scheduled a vacation day following the Last Day of School to take Presley somewhere she's never been to before.....the Oregon Zoo!  Luckily we had some of our fave friends join the fun which made it a way better experience all around.  The weather was perfect and we had an amazing time.

Presley was so excited to see her (current) favorite animal.....a sloth!

We called ourselves the Cheetah Girls!

Luckily Dylan had the opportunity to join the Juniors All Star team in a District Tournament which we hadn't expected.  The timing fell during the ridiculous heatwave and record temperatures.  It was very hard to watch him in full uniform in the direct sun for hours as we watched in the shade.  He didn't have a lot of playing time during Game 1, but was an absolute BEAST during Game 2 hitting 3/5 at-bats, scoring 3 runs and playing Center Field the entire game.  He was on fire and helped his team stay alive in the tournament for a 3rd game.  He had some success there as well, but the team was knocked out of the tournament and finished 2nd in the District.  I love All Stars!

Once all the craziness of school & baseball was over, I was off from work for the summer and so ready to enjoy all this hot weather everyone else was complaining about.  The triple digit temperatures was a perfect opportunity to break out my new paddleboard on the lake!  It was around 113 degrees and I loved every second of the 6 hours we spent on the water.

Bring on summer!

'til next month!  I'm afraid I may be having too much fun to remember to take photos, but I'll do my best.
