May 2022

Wow, for a month with 31 days in it, May went by in a whirlwind! Here's what the Rakoz Family was up to.

Dylan, Maddox and I love to enjoy the daily Wordle from the NY Times which has been trending for the last few months.

Here's a pic of me and my girl on Mother's Day

Teague and I had a day off together and treated ourselves to a newly opened brewpub and pizza place at the Vancouver Waterfront.  He loved it!

When the boys first started playing baseball, I erroneously believed that games were cancelled when it rained.  10 years of baseball/softball later found us at the rainiest game ever where it poured the entire time.  Dylan and I were parked close enough to enjoy this particular game from the car!

Here's another "lab" assignment from Maddox's Culinary Essentials class: chocolate pudding pie.  There were extras so he brought me home one of my own.

I've been working on a 3000 piece puzzle for months now.  Presley helped me out one weekend and together we completed the brown frame which has taken forever!

No, Diesel is not happy to be trapped in my arms.

Who's got a pretty big smile and is celebrating her first (in the park) home run?  That girl!  So proud of her.

She has been amazing this season.  She is one of the main pitchers on her team and gets lots of strikeouts.

Here's a pic of Presley with one of her fave softball teammates, Aliya, during a sleepover.  She's made some fun friends on her team and I hope they can play together for many years to come.

Presley's last orchestral concert.

I was able to walk over to school and spend a sunny morning breakfast with these cuties. Eleanor has been such a wonderful friend to Presley over the last 3 years and I'm grateful for her friendship.

One Sunday morning Presley joined Daddy and I at the Syrup Trap for breakfast. My blueberry lemon curd waffle was delish.

Here's a rare family night where we enjoyed our giant slices of pizza at the Hungry Sasquatch. Look at this slice!

Crazy, right??!!

If you look closely at the top middle of the photo, you'll see Dylan who was in charge of this Gaga Ball station at our Spring Social at school.  He's had many leadership opportunities this year and he steps up when asked to help out.

I helped out at this school event as well, but got stuck chaperoning a much worse station....

Dylan's ASB Leadership class created 26 consecutive "Spirit Days" to celebrate the last 26 days of school.  This class has done some amazing things for the school this year and I'm very glad he was part of this inaugural class.

You could find Dylan and I (and Presley when she doesn't have a ride home) on various football fields and tracks in the area during the month of May.

This was my view as I watch my Cheer Squad

And this was Dylan's view while he videotaped the football team.  Can you spot him in the middle toward the top?  He HATED filming these games as he'd rather stand with the team on the sidelines.

That's it for May!  Tune in to June where our various activities wrap up for the year and school comes to a close.  See ya!
