July 2022

Happy Summer!  You know this is my absolute FAVORITE month of the year, because the sun is out and I do not have to work.  Is there anything better than that?  Here's how the Rakoz Clan celebrated July 2022.

Better late than never!  Can I just say that I only received the End-of-Year school photos of the kids at the end of July????  Way to delay Dad!

Maddox's last day of 10th grade

Presley's last day of 5th grade/elementary school (sniff, sniff)

Dylan's last day of 8th grade/middle school (extra sniff, sniff)

Dylan was invited to a birthday party at an Escape Room.  They were close to escaping, but I think the fun this group had was the real victory.

Happy 4th of July!  We had our annual 4th of July party and had a "Day at the Fair theme". I tasked the kids to each come up with a fair-type game for our guests.  It was a warm day and filled with laughter, great food and fun, as always.

After weeks of practice, Presley played in her All Star Softball Tournament where they played hard for 4 straight days.  They finished 3rd in the District. Presley did great.  She had impressive hits, was starting pitcher and did well in the infield on defense getting lots of outs.  We were extremely proud of her.

I've been trying my hand at perfecting some new summer cocktails.  This one has been my new fave, the Key Lime Pie Crush.  It is AMAZING!

I've also tried some vodka gummy bears....potent!

Teague has been making a mean Moscow Mule with mint.

We've tried to take advantage of these raging hot temperatures by paddle boarding/floating/swimming/rope swinging as much as possible.  Most of our time is spent with friends at Battle Ground Lake

Teague and I joined the Beardmores out at the Cornelius Pass Brewfest which was a blast! It was crazy hot, but the venue was perfect.

Dylan tried to flex playing some Cornhole against an actual professional. It was a humbling experience for him.

I took up a new hobby....making custom t-shirts with my new Cricut.  These were my 1st projects which turned out perfect!  I can't wait to try some more challenging projects going forward.

This month included a milestone birthday....no need to specify which milestone.

Presley and I passed some time one morning at a Starbucks setting up our new planners for the upcoming school year while waiting for Dylan's 7-on-7 scrimmage to wrap up.

I took these cuties out one day for shopping at the Adidas Employee store and lunch in NW Portland at Breakside Brewery with dessert at Salt n Straw

Summertime is also a great time for me to spend time with friends that live farther away since I have more time on my hands.  In these pics I was able to paddle board along the Tualatin River with one of my very faves....Angie!  I love this girl so much.

That's it for July!  Tune in next month for my return to work, Presley's 11th birthday, all the kids starting sports and the 1st day of school!
