December 2022

Happy December!  Here's what we were up to this month:

Now that Maddox is driving on a daily basis, we use him to pick Dylan up from various activities. Quite often they make a pitstop for fast food before arriving back home. This is how they let me know where they are at.

P and D

This year I took a day off of work to completely finish my Christmas shopping. This is something I used to do every year. I make sure to schedule it within the first 10 days of December so I can get my shopping behind me and not be panicked the rest of the season.

This is Brooke who has quickly become a best friend to Presley.  They have 2 classes together, spend lunch together and facetime for hours every day. In this pic they are performing some Christmas Carols at our Book Fair

This month Presley started taking a Choir class which she loves already.  Within 10 days she had memorized all the material needed to perform at their Holiday Concert.

Every year the Counseling Center we like to host a Hot Cocoa Bar. My co-worker loves to bring the most amazing homemade brownies.

We had Spirit Week right before Christmas Break and one of the dress-up days was "Dress like your favorite holiday movie character."  Here is co-worker Clark W Griswold and Principal Cousin Eddie

My co-worker always gives me amazing "The Office" themed gifts.  Here is what I got for Christmas this year.  It's hard to see, but it's a sunshade for my car with 3 of the characters on it.

The last day before Christmas Break, we had a pep assembly at school.....the first in years due to COVID.  I worked it out to have my Cheer Squad perform and teach the student body a chant.  It was a good excuse to get some team photos.

The cutest on the squad

We crashed Amber's work Christmas Party.  I mean, we had no choice....they were serving their super special Orange Dreamsicle Moonshine!

While gift shopping for his siblings with Dylan one day, we ran into one of Dylan's former classmates, Makayla!  These 2 had a very brother/sister relationship last year, but they go to different schools now.  She was one of my fave students and I was super excited to see her....and force them to take a photo together.  They were not as excited.

I sent this pic to Teague to show I was prepping his favorite Christmas Eve dish....Granny's meatballs

Annual Christmas Snack Fest

Here are the kids opening their big asks.

Maddox: Air Pod Pros

Dylan: Beats by Dre

Presley: black Converse hi-tops

This Christmas, me and the kids perfected Italian cream sodas.  In this pic Presley is giving Kaitlyn a tutorial.

Christmas Evening is always enjoyed at Auntie Rhacelle's.  She has beautiful tablescapes and wonderful food. Always a perfect wrap-up to a fun holiday.

Here's Grandma preparing dessert elements and Uncle Jeff showing great restraint from diving in.

Cousin Adden

I'm surprised these 2 are still awake!

The ONLY family photo I got this Christmas season....we didn't even do a Christmas card this year

Happy 17th Birthday Maddox!  He took the day off from work (he was scheduled for a 7hr shift) and spent his time eating favorite foods and playing video games.

He's been wanting an electric blanket for years!

We were invited to a New Year's Eve Party at my friend's house which gave us an excuse to dress up a little and take a couple pic.

This is Michelle and she is such a precious friend with a gift for throwing fabulous parties!

Peace out 2022!  You've brought some disappointments (Dylan's knee recovery, turning 50, etc) and some amazing achievements (driver's license, new job, football, cheer, All Stars, Most Inspirational award, etc).  Looking forward to new accomplishments in 2023.  Bring it!
