Welcome back! October was crazy busy, but what else is new? Here's what we were up to.
Things that happened this month, but were not pictured:
*October 2nd: Teague and I celebrated our 19th wedding anniversary....well, not so much celebrated as just wished each other Happy Anniversary. We're still trying to find an evening to celebrate.
*October 2nd - 6th: I held Cheer tryouts for the year. Presley made the Cheer Squad for both seasons. Yay!
*October: Maddox is still part of the family. He spent the month working, using his paycheck on fast food, sleeping and playing video games. He never seems to be in any photos, but we see him at least once a day.
*October 29th: Dylan's Birthday Celebration was brunch at The Cheesecake Factory. This was the first time in a really long time all 5 of us went out together. Why didn't I remember to take a picture!!???
Milestone moment for Dylan
His teeth are absolutely perfect! He's been eating popcorn almost non-stop ever since.
Here's #4 in his last JV game of the season.
We got to see a familiar face at this game against Prairie High School: the kids' former elementary PE teacher Mike Smith! I was happy Dylan was able to run over and say hello.
Presley finished her fall softball season dominating the mound at pitcher. She did such a great job for her team.
Presley tried out for her school Volleyball team which meant arriving at the school 2 hours early for morning tryouts every day for a week. Her sleep sacrifice paid off: she made the A Team (#35)! So incredibly proud of her (although I knew she could do it)!
For someone who was trying to get out of playing Volleyball, she sure has a pretty proud smile.
7th grade Science class always means the bottle rocket project. Although you won't be able to see the video I took during her class launch, this bad boy was impressive.
To help Dylan gain some driving hours, I paid a visit to my friend at her fabulous shop in Battle Ground, Haute Madre. What a fun surprise that we were wearing the exact same shirt. Michelle had purchased these shirts a couple of years ago during one of our Margs & Movie dates. I just love this girl!
I've had a lunch crew in my office for the last year and a half of 4 girls that have been either on my cheer or dance team in the past. They are all close.
On this day, we said goodbye to one of the lunch crew, Rose, as she prepares for a move to Utah.
This was a very emotional day for me as well. I've been her coach for 3 seasons and she calls me a 2nd mom. I stocked up on a lot of tissues in the Counseling Office specifically for this day.
Now that the JV season is over, Dylan is done with football. Or is he? He has stayed on to practice on the scout team to help prepare Varsity for the play-offs. Varsity earned the League Champs title and finished 8-1 so far. Because of his work and dedication, Dylan gets to suit up for Varsity's last game and the play-offs. Although he's unlikely to play any minutes, I sure love seeing him (#20) on the sideline!
Maddox's first period class is called Office Procedures. He is tasked with helping out in the Career Center. Well it just so happens that 2 of the women that run the Career Center are not only best friends, but former classmates of Teague. Here's a special Halloween message Maddox sent to us.
Halloween day was Presley's 1st Volleyball game. Although the A Team did not secure the win, Presley was one of the Team Captains on this first game, was a starter, and played the entire first 2 games (the 3rd game is played by those on the bench that haven't yet played that day)! She had some amazing serves and got many points for her team.
After the game ended, we grabbed Dylan from football practice, some birthday pizza, and headed home for presents.
Happy 16th Birthday Dylan! I just love this kid. He's done some really awesome things in the last year and he's so excited to get his license and gain some more freedom. Although he opted out of trick-or-treating and hung back to pass out candy with Maddox, he had a good birthday with lots of treats.
Trick-or-Treating in the best Halloween neighborhood. Ghostface ended up with 5 full sized candy bars and a ridiculous amount of other junk. Weather was great!
That's a wrap for October!
